Primary Prevention 

Primary prevention refers to actions directed at a vulnerable group or person. To stop a disease from ever starting is the goal of primary prevention. Therefore, people in good health are our target demographic. It often involves implementing measures to reduce risk exposure or boost immunity in those who are prone to disease in order to stop a disease from developing in a person who is vulnerable to sub-clinical disease. As an illustration, vaccinations are a type of primary prevention.


Secondary Prevention 

The goal of secondary prevention is to identify people with subclinical versions of the disease in otherwise healthy-looking people by emphasising early disease identification. Pathologic alterations characterise the subclinical disease; no overt symptoms that can be diagnosed during a visit with a physician are present. Screenings are a common method of secondary prevention.


Tertiary Prevention 

The goal of tertiary prevention is to address a disease's clinical and outcome phases. It is used to patients who exhibit symptoms and seeks to lessen the severity of the illness and any related aftereffects. Tertiary prevention tries to lessen the impact of the disease once it has been established in an individual, whereas secondary prevention tries to stop the sickness from ever starting. Rehabilitation initiatives are frequently used as tertiary preventive measures.
